My husband thinks I live through facebook because I post so many pictures on my page throughout the day. Every day.
I mean, I am sure everyone is on the edge of their seats in the morning waiting for me to announce what I am eating for breakfast. How can they possibly start their day without this vital information?! :)
My post today was more about how I have heard it takes 21 days to develop a habit. My intention was to encourage people to start the day with a nutritious breakfast and to spend time in God's Word. To me those two things are central to having a good day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Reading God's Word is one of the best ways to spend time with the Creator of the universe, YOUR Creator, YOUR Father, YOUR Friend.
Evidently, people are interested in what I eat for breakfast because a friend of mine wanted to know more about the vitamins I take. She actually suggested I write a blog post on it. So, here we are!
While I was pregnant, this was my morning vitamin ritual:
Even though I've had the baby, it's pretty much the same. Except I don't take the evening primrose oil anymore (it helps the cervix thin out and prepare for birth). I also don't take the B-6 since I am not struggling with morning/all day sickness (yes, I fight that until the day my babies are born).
Here's my layout now:
This morning I took my prenatals since I am breastfeeding. I will take those until I'm not nursing anymore, but that will be quite awhile, and hopefully I will get pregnant again shortly after that. So, I just plan on being on my prenatals for a good long time. I think I have been taking them for the past 4+ years now since my oldest daughter just turned 4, my middle daughter is 2, and I have a 2 week-old.
I also took 2 alfalfa vitamins to help with my postpartum bleeding. I took them during pregnancy to help minimize my bleeding, and it has definitely made a difference!
I had an It Works Omega-3.
I took these during pregnancy to help with baby's brain development and will keep taking them since Omega-3's have sooo many benefits.
I had an It Works Mineral vitamin as well.
Here are just a few of the benefits that come with it:
I'm a healthy eater, but I know I never get all the vitamins and minerals I need every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. So I am glad I can take one supplement to help me out with that. Best part -- it has a delicious minty taste!
And of course, I had my It Works Greens!!! I just added 2 scoops (1 teaspoon total of powder) to my glass of water and mixed it up. I personally like the taste (of the berry flavor) and don't mind the green color at all! I absolutely LOVE all the greens do for me:
I don't think I have missed taking my greens since I started using them back in February of this year (2013). Everyone in my family uses them on a regular basis. My 2 and 4 year girls actually ask for them most days!
Sometimes we have them in orange juice.
Other days we put them in our smoothies.
Well, there you have it. Now you know what vitamins I take every morning and why I take them. I love that I know I am starting each day investing in my health and giving my body what it needs to function as it was made to do. I also like that it's not costing me an arm and a leg. I don't mind spending money on quality vitamins though, as I know that doing so will help my body stay strong and healthy and hopefully give me more time on this earth to enjoy my family and make precious memories with them.
