From One Mom to Another

In the past year I have met so many amazing women (and men, too).  Most of these women are moms, like me. Most of these moms stay at home, like me.  We want to be with our kiddos.  That's what we dreamed of as little girls -- being a mommy someday.  BUT we need to contribute to our family income, and so we work.  Many moms have to work.  It's not a bad thing.  BUT when you would rather be home with your kids more than anything else, you start to hate your job.  You don't like going to work.  You dread Mondays.  You get stressed at home because you still have all the laundry and cooking and cleaning to do on top of your full-time out-of-the-house job.  You're tired.  You're cranky.  You're simply not living the dream life you imagined when you were a little girl.  But what can you do?

What if I told you that you can do something!!!  That you can stay home with your kiddos (if that's what  you want to do) AND still contribute to your family's income, in a big way.  You can have the best of both worlds!

My company's motto is FRIENDSHIPS, FUN, AND FREEDOM!!!  We enjoy what we do so much that it's not really a job.  It's not work when you love what you do, when you have so much satisfaction in helping others, in providing for your family, in creating a legacy for your children.

I love how we're all just normal, everyday people.  Nothing super special about us.  Just moms who decided that if we wanted to stay home with our kiddos, we were going to do whatever it took to make that happen. I think women are really good at that.  We get our hearts set on something and we don't stop until our goal is met or our dream is fulfilled.

I thought you might like to meet some of these amazing women and hear their stories, from one mom to another.  Maybe their journey can inspire you to start your own It Works story. Maybe if you see them doing it, you will believe that you can too!

First up is Shauntel Lyons.

  When Shauntel began It Works, she was working full time AND going to school to get her Master's in education so she could become a teacher.  She wanted to spend more time with her kiddos and thought being a teacher would let her do that.  BUT, she was overwhelmed and tired and not getting the time she wanted with her family.  One day she sat at her desk and sighed, "There has to be more to life than this."  She knew that "more" was being with her kids, being the mom she had dreamed of being but couldn't be because of her job.  She just didn't know how to make that "more" happen.  And then she was introduced to It Works and everything began to change.

Here's what Shauntel has to say about her experience:
For whatever reason, when I began my journey with It Works!, life felt different.
Endless possibilities for LIFE seemed to open up for me. I felt like I had full control of my future for once in my life. It wasn't in the hands of someone else. It was all in MY control. My way of thinking and my thought process changed. I couldn't sleep at night due to PURE EXCITEMENT of what this business could do IF I worked it right. I didn't have any extra time to do it but I sure did have the vision...and that vision made me get to work, throw excuses out the window, throw caution to the wind and MAKE the time for it. I sacrificed a lot but I did it for my family. My husband stood behind me and took on more around our house so that I could get the job done. He believed in me. More importantly, I believed in me. It was tough juggling a full time job, grad school and growing a new business. But I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I envisioned my life without a boss, without an alarm clock, without ANY LIMITS. I knew I could make that my reality. And guess what?!?! I DID IT! Yes, it was TOUGH. Oh, I cried a lot of tears. I was so tired. I was scared. But it did become my reality!!! I dreamed of a life with no limits and no boundaries and now I have it! And YOU can too. Anything you want out of life, go after it. Don't ponder it or wait for it to fall into you lap. GO FOR IT. Chase those dreams. Do it. Because I know you can. I believe in you. Believe in yourself.

Shauntel finished school, but she didn't become a teacher.  And she doesn't work 40+ hours a week at her old job either.  Nope, now she is staying home with her kiddos.  Like she always dreamed.  AND she's making over $30,000 a month doing it.  Shauntel and her husband Herman earned around $175,000 in bonuses in the past 2 years.  They have paid off debt, paid off family member's debt, and are living a life they never even imagined.  Before It Works none of that was possible, but now it's their reality.  And it can be yours too!

Maybe you're thinking Shauntel is unique or a special case.  Well, I'd like to introduce you to Liz Barton.

Liz USED to work at the school where my husband teaches 3rd grade. She WAS the Instructional Coach.  She enjoyed her job, BUT she wanted to be home with her boys more than anything else.  And so she too joined It Works.  Guess what?  This school year she's going on her son's field trips, not as a teacher, but as a MOM.  Liz has done so well with this crazy wrap business that she was able to "retire" her husband Gabe, and now they BOTH get to be home with their boys all the time!  How amazing is that?!

Here's what Liz has to say about her experience:
Six months ago I was a teacher. In a classroom. Working 40+ hours a week away from my home. Now....now I have total#freedom of my time, more time to travel, more money to pay off debt, more time with those I LOVE! It's WORTH it!!!

I could tell you about Lori Conway, another mom who started this business when her youngest (of 4 children) was just a baby. She knew that once her baby girl grew up and started kindergarten, her husband would want her to go back to work.  She didn't want to do that though.  She wanted to keep staying home.  And so she became an It Works distributor after attending a wrap party.  Almost 3 years later, she's still at home and so is her husband Quintin.  Yep, he's "retired" too.  He gave up his job in the banking industry and the six-figure income that went with it because it was costing him to go to work.  Now, Lori and Quintin get to stay home together, work together, and enjoy their kids together.  In fact, over Christmas break, they just woke up one morning and decided, "Let's go on vacation!"  So they did!  For a week!  How fun would that be?  Talk about FREEDOM of time!!!  If Lori and Quintin can do it, so can YOU!

I can't forget about Ashleigh though!!!  She used to do in-home daycare (like I do) but it was stressful for her.  AND she didn't really like living paycheck to paycheck.  They wanted to send their oldest daughter to a private school, but couldn't afford it.  She wanted that same"more" out of life that Shauntel did.  Guess what?  Ashleigh also joined It Works and was #93 in the company this past year.  Her daughter attends the private school.  They just took a family vacation to Disney World.  They're paying off debt and working towards "retiring" her husband Justin.  

I almost forgot about Brandi Estes!!!  I can't imagine doing that though.  Her story inspires me so much!!!  She was a stylist and worked up until the day her baby boy was born.  And as soon as she was out of the hospital, she was back to work because they couldn't afford for her to take any time off or to pay for anyone to watch the baby - so he went to work with her!!!  That was then.  NOW, both Brandi and her husband are full-time parents and get to be home with all of their kiddos, together!!!

And I just have to tell you about my dear friend Melissa too.  She is, after all, the reason why I finally took that leap of faith and joined It Works too.  After doing a year of her own research, Melissa and her husband Mitch went for it and become distributors.  Their dream of owing a nutrition store wasn't turning out quite like they had envisioned.  They were going into debt another $500 each month.  They were on food stamps.  Melissa was picking up every hour she could at the hospital where she worked as a RN.  Not exactly the life they wanted.  And so they borrowed the $99 to start their It Works business, and now just a year later are making over $16,000 A MONTH!!!  They're not on food stamps anymore.  They're paying off debt instead of going into it.  And Melissa, she quit her job as a RN and stays at home full time as a mommy, just like she has always dreamed of doing!

Those are just 6 of 100s of 1000s of moms I could introduce you to who are part of this crazy wrap business.  Most of these moms started out with a goal of making $500 to $1000 a month so they could either stay home with their kiddos or go get their nails done without feeling guilty.  In less than 3 years, all of these women have not only been able to stay at home but have their husbands home too (or will shortly).  How crazy is that?  Well, not very crazy I guess since it's happening to mom after mom after mom after mom that I meet through It Works.

I didn't even tell you about Stephanie Doss or Lydia Diaz or Jen Keller or Madra Jones or Kami Dempsey.

And as for me, I too am staying home.  I still have my in-home daycare (for now), but thank goodness for It Works!!!  This past year two of my daycare kiddos stopped coming, very suddenly and unexpectedly.  So there was half my income gone.  If not for It Works, we would have been back on WIC like we were 3 years ago (when I was pregnant with our 2nd little girl - we have 3 now).  Or just this past week, we had 4 snow days.  I don't charge when my daycare kiddos aren't here (as I think that is only fair not to pay for something if you're not using it).  So that's over $400 gone from our budget that we had counted on.  Granted, we will make up those days come May, and I'll get paid then.  BUT groceries and bills don't really wait until May now do they?  Once again, we are ever so thankful for It Works!  Who would have imagined that God would provide for us by means of a crazy wrap business?!  Not me!

I just celebrated my one-year anniversary with It Works.  This past year totally changed my life in so many ways!  Totally aside from earning a $10,000 bonus, I simply cannot say how amazing this business is (LOVE the heart of our leadership and  how we support wonderful organizations like Selah Freedom and Children's Cup)!  I simply cannot stress enough how YOU too can be a part of the FRIENDSHIPS, FUN, AND FREEDOM It Works has to offer!

From one mom to another, I would LOVE to have you join the team and become part of this family.  That's what we are -- FAMILY!  

I know you're busy changing diapers and wiping snotty noses and making meals and picking up toys and driving kids to and from sports practice or music lessons or dance rehearsal and helping with homework and so much more.  I know you don't think you have time for this.  BUT, you do.  You really do.

Because if you're like me (and you may not be, and that is okay), you want to be home with your kiddos.  If you're like me, you dreamed of being a mommy someday.  If you're like me, you want "more" out of life.
