Getting Personal

After the girls were in bed, I whipped up some personal care products.  It actually wasn't as hard as I had anticipated, though I haven't attempted to make the lotion yet.

I am not 100% sold on all of these recipes, but I am certainly willing to give everything a try to see how they work.  If they need tweaking, I can always look for some new and "improved" recipes.

Here's what I have for right now:

Shampoo

1/4 Cup Water
1/4 Cup Liquid Castile Soap
2 Teaspoons Jojoba Oil
Essential Oil

Body Wash

1 Tablespoon Steel Cut Oats (optional)
1 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Citric Acid
2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil (you can use any kind of oil -- olive, grapeseed, almond, jojoba)
1 Tablespoon Honey
1 1/2 Cup Liquid Castile Soap
1 Teaspoon Guar Gum (a thickening agent)
Essential Oil(s)

Deodorant

1/4 Cup Baking Soda

1/4 Cup Cornstarch
5 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

Toothpaste

6 Tablespoons Baking Soda
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Glycerin
1 Tablespoon Hydrogen Peroxide
Essential Oil for taste

Hair Gel

1 Teaspoon Unflavored Gelatin
1 Cup Warm Water
Essential Oil

If you have recipes for any of these personal care products that you use and absolutely like, I would love for you to share!  And if I stink or have bad breath, please let me know that too!  I will be sure to find a new recipe right away!!!
