BUT, at the same time, I firmly believe making the investment of eating right is well worth it! You are taking care of your body and avoiding expensive health care costs in the future. I would much rather spend money on preventive measures (eating right, gym membership, etc.) than on surgeries, medicines, hospital stays, doctor visits, and other such costs.
A healthy lifestyle is more than just eating right, though. Exercise is also important. Various other "products" can also help you on your health and wellness journey -- multivitamins, protein powders, greens, and other supplements formulated to focus specifically on one area/system of your body.
It Works offers all of those! And while you may think you can't afford these products, I would beg to differ. Rather than being taken aback that the protein powder, for example, costs $69 a bag, break it down to see how much it costs per serving. Then, compare that to something else you could spend your money on from day to day.
Take a typical meal from McDonald's:
$4.95 for this Quarter Pounder with cheese, large fries, and large drink. You must also consider the calories you are paying for!!! 520 for the Quarter Pounder alone. 500 more for the large fries. 310 for the large Coke. That's 1,330 calories!!!
I would rather spend $2.30 for a serving of protein powder to mix in with my smoothie made with yogurt, frozen berries, and some spinach!
Maybe you're not a fan of McDonald's. You like to think outside of the box and live mas:
$4.99 for this Big Box Meal, complete with 1,180 calories!
I would rather spend 93 cents to have two small scoops of Daily Greens and get 8+ servings of fruits and vegetables and help promote the pH balance in my body at the same time.
Maybe you don't like beef and prefer to eat more chicken:
Much better with "only" 860 calories to the tune of $4.79.
Then again, maybe you don't eat out that much, but you are a fan of coffee.
410 calories for this Grande Caramel Frappuccino that costs about $4.50.
Anywhere from $1.50 to $3.99 for this black coffee, depending on what size you get. Calories would also vary based on what you like to add to your coffee to make it taste just right.
Either way -- hot or cold -- you could take three It Works supplements for the price of one cup of joe. The Vital Core Nutrition (multivitamin), ThermoFIT (boots metabolism), and Confianza (increases energy while reducing stress and fatigue). Again, you might be overwhelmed at the cost of each bottle:
Vital Core Nutrition: $29
ThermoFIT: $39
Confianza: $25
BUT, when you break it down to what it costs to take these on a daily basis, it's much easier to swallow (pun intended)! About a $1 to $1.30 a day for each individually, or $3.30 a day for all three. Like I said, less than a cup of coffee. And much better for you too!
I'm not saying to give up your morning (or afternoon) coffee. I couldn't even do that!!!!! Maybe you could buy a can of Folgers or Maxwell or whatever at the grocery store and brew your coffee at home instead of paying extra for the name on the cup. Then, put the money you save towards staying healthy!!!
When it comes to wrapping, you might think that $25-$30 is a bit pricey to wear a wrap for 45 minutes. Most massages cost $49 for an hour. Manicures average $20-35, or so I am told; I have never actually had one. Pedicures are a little more, running anywhere from $25-50. I've only had one in my entire life -- as a bridesmaid and it was paid for by the bride's family. For a simple hair cut and style, you'll need about the same amount. More if you get highlights or perm or whatnot. Plus tip. So, if you compare the price of a wrap to other expenses, it really is quite reasonable! And you get some great results that you can feel good about as an added bonus. :)
If you're like me and try to get stuff for FREE, then hosting a wrap party is the thing for you. If you invite your friends and three of them wrap at the cost of $30 ($25 if they have a coupon), then you can wrap for FREE! On top of that, EVERYONE at the party gets to sample the Daily Greens and the Defining Gel, also for FREE. If the host lets me know in advance some other products he/she would like to try out, I can do my best to have the Ultimate ProFIT protein powder, the Essential energy bars, or such items for everyone to try as well. I can set up some other deals too -- if someone wants to use both the body wrap and the facial applicator at the party, they can do so for $50 (separately it would cost $30 for the wrap and $25 for the facial). It Works also has various "packs" with multiple products to help individuals focus on their specific health and wellness goals, while keeping a little cash in their pocket.
Skinny Pack: $109, for a savings of $18 by buying everything together rather than separately.
Or if you want to go all in, you can get the Fit Pack (available with vanilla or chocolate protein powder).
You pay $179 and save $45 by getting everything all at once.
I hope you see that eating right and working out and taking care of yourself is well worth the "expense" and DOESN'T actually cost more than some typical fast food meals or a cup of specialty coffee. In fact, the money you spend upfront to maintain a healthy lifestyle will hopefully save you lots of green in the end as you avoid medical bills related to poor health issues and conditions.
It's your money and you can spend it however you want, but I just wanted to make sure you were an informed shopper!
