Too Good to Keep to Myself

I was going to wait until tomorrow to share this, but it's just too good to keep to myself another second!  Plus, I am super duper excited about all I just learned about the It Works defining gel and simply can't stop smiling.  While I was working to create a little handout to have at my parties for those people who are like me and want to know HOW things work, I had several friends contact me via facebook asking for more information about the wraps and the greens.  One person was even interested in joining my team and becoming a distributor herself!  I am over the top with happiness and giddiness!

When I became an It Works distributor about 3 weeks ago, I was nervous about what people would think of me.  I worried they would be skeptical of our products, like I used to be.  And so I have made it my mission to educate myself and others about the way our health and wellness products work.  I want people to realize we're not gimicky or offering quick-fix solutions, but really, truly helping people develop and maintain healthy lifestyles.  Whether someone's goal is weight loss or increased metabolism or better eating habits or reduced stress or increased energy or smoother skin or whatever else they may want to help them on their journey to health and wellness, It Works has something for everyone!

Take the Defining Gel that I was talking about earlier, for example!

Just look at all the things it can do:
Brighten Tattoos

Reduce Acne

Moisturize Dry, Cracked Skin

Diminish the Appearance of Cellulite

Help Heal Scars

Clear up Rashes

Reduce Stretch Marks

Help Clear up Excema
Smooth Skin and Help Reduce Wrinkles

But HOW is the Defining Gel able to do all of that, and more?!  Well, that's what I am excited about and want to share with you!

As are all It Works products, the Defining Gel is made with natural ingredients.
Here are some of those key ingredients and what they do:

Witch Hazel: This plant naturally contains some amazing active compounds (like tannins and anti-oxidants) that enable it to be considered as an excellent remedy for conditions like acne, inflammations, swelling, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, various skin problems, insect bites, and laryngitis.

Seaweedhelps the detoxification process by speeding up the elimination of toxins from our cells; helps nourish and re-mineralize the skin; is a natural cellular renewal ingredient

Put Seaweed in the “Search Box” and you will find an article that highlights its many benefits!

Ivy: prevents water accumulation in skin tissues, helping to tighten, tone, and refine our skin; also know for its slimming and anti-cellulite properties

Butchers Broom: generally used as an anti-inflammatory, aromatic, diaphoretic, diuretic, mildly laxative, and vasoconstrictive agent. It has been used to alleviate constipation, improve blood circulation, and to ameliorate water retention discomfort. This medicinal herb is believed to tighten the veins of the circulatory system and fortify the walls of capillary vessels.
The plant contains many steroidal saponins. These steroidal saponins are believed to be responsible for the medicinal effects of this herb. The active principle is ruscin (monodesmosidic spirostanoside type), ruscoside (bisdesmosidic furostanol glycoside type) with accompanying aglycones (neoruscogenin and ruscogenin). The high flavonoid contents such as rutin that ameliorates the flow of blood to the brain, hands, and legs.
Because of its mild diuretic action, it acts as herbal remedy for reducing swelling of the legs, and it seems to be useful in the treatment of phlebitis and natural treatment for varicose veins.
Various people use butcher´s broom for the treatment and prevention of a variety of ailments such as atherosclerosis, chronic venous insufficiency and the suppositories made from this plant are often utilized in the herbal treatment of hemorrhoids.
When butcher´s broom is applied as a topical ointment, it seems to be effective in easing off the pains and swelling associated with arthritis and rheumatism.

Sound good?!  Sure does!
But wait, there’s even more!!!

Guarana Seed: Guaraná is an evergreen vine found growing in the wild basins of the Amazon rain forests. The indigenous people of the Amazon rain forest have used crushed guaraná seed as a beverage and a medicine. Guaraná was used to treat diarrhea, decrease fatigue, reduce hunger, and to help arthritis.

Guarana's active components are guaranine and the alkaloids theobromine and theophylline. Guaranine is almost identical in chemical structure to caffeine and has many of the same effects. Guaraná also contains tannins, which may account for its traditional use to treat diarrhea.

Guaraná, in combination with Asian ginseng and Siberian ginseng, is often used by athletes in an attempt to produce an energizing effect.   Guaraná contains a substance similar to caffeine called guaranine. Guaranine stimulates the central nervous system, increases metabolism, and has a mild diuretic effect. It has been suggested that in combination with other herbs, guarana (guaranine) may be effective in helping to promote weight loss. This effect is probably due to an appetite suppressing mechanism, an increase in calorie burning, or both.

Green TeaThe secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.

Rosemary: The leaves of the rosemary contain stomachic (aids digestion) properties, and this property is often used by hair tonic makers, with the belief that its regular use would help prevent baldness when it is applied externally. Rosemary is often recommended especially for cases of low blood pressure. Both the volatile oil and the medication in the rosemary have been used as emmenagogues, which would be effective in stimulating menstrual flow and as abortifacients.  Camphor, cineole, and borneol are all active compounds of the rosemary, and all these compounds possess an adequate amount of antibacterial properties. Furthermore, the rosemary has stimulating properties, and this becomes more evident when the oil is applied locally. In addition, the leaves of rosemary contain a number of flavonoid pigments of which diosmin, to quote one example, is reported to decrease capillary fragility and permeability. According to German health authorities, rosemary can prove to be effective for bringing in relief from indigestion. Rosemary can also be used as a supportive therapy for rheumatic disorders, and externally, rosemary is acknowledged for its efficacy and success in the treatment of circulatory problems.

So, there you have it!  There is a science behind what It Works products do.  And the nerdy part of me just LOVES that.  Tomorrow, I am going to be researching one of our supplements -- ThermoFIT.  I want to learn how it helps boost your metabolism because that is definitely one area of my life that I need help with, especially as I get ready to turn 30 on Saturday!

Don't worry, I won't keep what I learn a secret.  If it's anything like what I discovered today, then it too will be "Too Good to Keep to Myself!"

Seriously, if you want to know more about any of the It Works products, contact me!  Or visit my website to see if we have something that might help you accomplish your health and wellness goals!
